The following is guidance from a CWU briefing note -
The system monitors and records fuel usage, harsh driving activity and idling time. Reports are available to Managers in the version of a trip summary report on driving time, idling time and harsh driving activity. A trip location report provides a map of the harsh activity or idling time recorded.
The record would be discussed with the OPG/Driver to establish cause. Following two discussions over similar incidents a coaching session would take place. The terms of reference do not allow Trimble to be used for conduct issues.
How would you know if real time recording of driver activity is taking place? Are the items discussed in a one to one only driving time, harsh activity and idling time - or can other items from Trimble be raised?Some Managers have accessed the hyperlink to real time recording of driving activity. This was excluded from the terms of reference and RM have assured the CWU that this is no longer possible.
