Stage 1 attendance & vacant duty

Hi, I have been told that if you are on a stage 1 you dont meet the criteria to apply for a vacant duty - is this true?

Best bet is to check the wording when the post is advertised. In any case I would still put your application in and let management decide if you are not eligible for the post. This seems to be a double jeopardy as you have by your previous absence been put on the ladder in the attendance procedure which could if no improvement could lead to the possibility of dismissal and also barring you from applying for future vacant duties. In other words you are being punished twice.
