Hi
I have been on sick leave for over 2 months now and OH assist have put me forward for IHR (or I could have had physio) but I don have a deffinate diagnosis of my condition because the doctors have not concluded their tests - need to have an x-ray on my chest (had blood tests) because I keep getting chest pains. ( I push the trolley in my job and have also suffered bad back and joints but the chest is the main issue)
My manager has contacted me to tell me that another manager will interview me with dismissal he says, but says I will have options. I have been offered over 11k in a lump sum, which is good but obviously I cant live on this. So I wonder if I should go back into the union and get them in with me on my behalf. My manager says I can have a friend present. I just dont know what to do. I am worried because if I lose my job I will have no income and I cant work at the moment anyway.
Can anyone advise?? Thanks

If one possible outcome could be your dismissal then you need an area rep to represent you.
OH have not put you forward, one of the questions RM asked OH was, if you meet the criteria for IHR in the opinion of OH. This has nothing to do with OH, your line manager has specifically asked OH for their opinion about you. Any manager who tells you otherwise is lying to you
If i was being cynical i might suggest that RM want you out before you are diagnosed with a condition that would in the opinion of OH likely be covered under the 2010 equality act, and as such would attract certain protections/conditions that RM would be legally obliged to offer you.
As things stand (with no diagnosis) at the minute RM can regard you as a skiver, shirker, lazy, and all around bad egg who they, as a money making centered business will be glad and justified to see the back of.
However, once diagnosed, they may have to revise their opinion of you as a goodfornothing due to the fact that, there is actually something wrong with you.
