As the title says I'm part way through a temporary contract as a Postie with driving, but another DO nearby is advertising for a permanent post? Obviously the security would be much better than what I have now. Can I apply?
If so what's the best way, should I call in the other DO and see if the DOM will support it? I'm guessing my current DOM won't as his office put time in training me up? Also if I don't get the other job is it likely to effect my chances of being kept on at the end of my current temp contract?
Advice appreciated.
Thanks

You need to be in RM 6 months before you can officially transfer.
Is the other role more hours? If not you may as well stay where you are, it's rare RM don't renew temp contracts and you'll be made permanent eventually.
If it is more hours apply online and HR might pick up on it and initiate a transfer regardless.

I'd apply on-line and if you get it there's basically nothing anyone can do about it!
If you pop into the Office for a chat they'll only tell you to apply online, but it can't do any harm.
