Should Royal Mail contribute to prescription trainers?

Post by christiani »

Hi everyone,

Apologies g this has already been asked, but the standard shoes (both the trainers and boots) ruin my feet (I have high arches and the RM ones don't have enough support). I went to the doctor, who issued me a letter stating I need to wear trainers, with the required support, as part of my round.

As the doctor has stated this, should the company now contribute towards my trainers? The doctor said this should be the case, but wanted to see what you guys think first.

Any advice would be much-appreciated!

Gosh, how kind of them! Apparently, the £24 I received from the company, to pay for the doctors note, was taken out of the £30. This company is beyond a joke.

I got told by my Dom that this payment had now stopped. Have tried to find some "official" info to prove otherwise but cannot find anything.

£24 for a doctors note fs a podiatrist only charges £20 to check your feet plus note about your condition.

Ah but I ended up paying for two notes as the Dom would not accept the note from the podiatrist  I pointed out that he was a specialist, but the Dom insisted it had to be from my GP.

Money well spent though. Can't cope at all with the work shoes.

Tell the DOM that if the payment has stopped he needs to give you a duty that doesn't involve walking. :cuppa :cuppa :thumbup

Personally would try and claim money back as a podiarist is a specialist unlike ur dom...

I never had to pay a penny for any notes from any one and I've seen the doctor and a podiatrist,OH assist got in touch with them and then emailed my DOM and that was it,however as my feet are better at the moment I am using RM footwear again, only CAT boots tho which I find great.
