Hi I was just wondering if anyone can shed some light on my situation. I'm looking to move closer to family approx 3 hours away so I made an effort to go round local offices around that area and talk to the manager's. I was lucky with one office as the manager said there was an opportunity as one of his full timers wanted to transfer however he'd been putting off letting him as he didn't want to have to re train someone etc. But the job was mine as far as he was concerned. He then said he had to do it all properly and advertise internally. The date closed and I applied. The manager had emailed HR to say he wanted me. Now HR has sent him a short list of 5 people and I'm not on it. Is there anything I can do? As there's no reason I would not have been on the shortlist as the manager has requested me? I am full time at my current office and have been with RM for almost 10 years.

were you reducing your hours, i ask as few take on ft staff now.
you moving causes a vacuum at your parent office and as this potential new manager has told you they were unwilling to let the other person go as it creates problems.
these are only thoughts but you could ask HR directly, i think i would. 0845 6060603
