Regarding timings, how long is a piece of string.
Each Box and PO AND TSO will be different, your run of the mill boxes would be a much of a muchness but the rest is local agreements surely?
I would also get area help asap as well.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Last time I was active it was 6 mins for a post office.
Cant remember what for a box.
Id imagine that Geo Route would have all the figures embedded. Be sure to use this tool as its the Official Royal Mail duty planner for Collections and ensures a safe and manageable workload.
Again, this is 2 year old info from me but still applies I'm pretty sure.

Been there done it.
What you want is the 2010 collections best practice agreement, there is a later one but the 2010 has alot more in it, and when you wave it around they are none the wiser especially if you have high-lighted the relevant bits. I asked all the staff to let me know how long each collection took where you did not just walk in and walk out, which collections had stairs as they also would take longer and looking at the weight situation carrying mail downstairs, this drove them mad, carrying trays downstairs you need 3 points of contact, so should not be carrying trays. Look at the local speed limits all ours were 20mph but in peak times we worked on 8mph, distances betwen collections all comes in to it. There loads of stuff to work through, it took us about 1 year.
Any more info you want let me know.
