Doctors appointment

Hi all. Seeing the doctor about IHR soon. Been through the process of a scoping exercise and there is nothing available for me. So we are now onto the next stage . I have told them that my condition does limit me to do the job that I am employed to do. Does anybody know what I can expect from this doctors appointment? Can he turn round and say that I am fit to do the job even though I can't, and even though they have said they can't find me anything suitable. Thank you

There are several scenarios that need to be explored here (1) Your age (2) Remaining years to retirement (3) financial loss on receiving IHR and the possibility and your capability dependant on your medical condition of finding other employment (4) can your condition be covered by the Equality Act 2010.
RM will have sent a report to OH Assist giving them a full description of the nature of you work and the OH Assist will on your face to face appointment give you certain exercises to perform and judge your capabilities on the limitations that you have given to RM for being unable to do your job. I am assuming that you have had " fit notes" from your own GP prior to the referral to OH Assist and if there is a contradiction in their reports you can give OH Assist permission to contact your GP for them to come to a decision on your capabilities on performing your job.
If OH Assist state that your condition is within the realms of The Equality Act then RM would have to make adjustments to your duty. Failing to do this on OH Assist recommendation and where they have ring fenced duties for others could be a case of discrimination.
Finally you are the best judge of your medical condition if you would prefer to continue employment with RM that is suitable to you or decide to move on with IHR if approved and seek gainful employment elsewhere.
