annual leave request

After putting in a request for annual leave, is there a period of time that you should be told as too whether you can have it or not?

annual leave should be sorted out by the end October prior at the latest, ie October 2015 for this leave year, that is what the current way forward agreement between the cwu and rm states, so you should have been told last October when your annual leave for this year is,

however i am guessing your office is using some sort of ad hoc unagreed system, in which case the gov.uk website gives advice on annual leave, which on there states you should give double the time off requested as notice and be given at least the same amount of time that you requested off notice if it has been approved, so if you have requested 1 week off you should given 2 weeks notice and rm should get back to you before 1 week left before date requested

Asking for leave in our office is like hitting your head of a brick wall i now have carried 15 days over in a period of three years everytime you apply or ask about the days in which entitled to you are told "NOT AVAILABLE"..on previous years we where always approached at the end of the the leave term to use up our collective days and could not carry them foward to the next year...surely there is a european law out there that entitle me to get my leave...!!!!

by law must be able to take 28 days leave per year, annual leave and bank holidays off count towards it
