Would like some advice on pension if possible.Feel shafted.

Hello there.
Not sure if I have posted to the right section but here goes anyway.Joined the company in the early 90s as a full timer and pension scheme right away.Left about four years ago and came back as a AG just under two years ago (loss of seniority).

The pension at the time was frozen I was told.Phoned Royal Mail when I came back and joined the pension scheme again and was told my previous years would be added and that the two schemes would be merged as one.

Noticed from my Pension Plan Illustration form that this hasnt happened and my total pensionable service was just my new career.Telephoned Royal Mail to advise them of this and was told there was no record of me telephoning up, I had to put the request in writing to merge the two and this had to be done within a year of starting back which has now expired.I wasnt given this advice because if I was do you not think I wouldnt have put it in writing.But they are saying they did.

Is there anything I can do about this as quite clearly with all the current dispute feel shafted by the company.As we know Royal Mail are not the company it was and as an issues they would love to save on (pensions) feel fobbed off and sick to the stomache again.

I understand the pension is still mine but if what they said is true it is now stagnant and dont really wanna cash it in.Also dont wanna give RM many years of "Taking care" of my funds.

Basically I want to merge the two Royal Mail pension schemes as one but feel shafted by Royal Mail as regards the response I was given.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.Was one of the few good things to come out of the company.
