Re: Holiday sa payments
Ok, here goes, firstly S/A payments are a luxury in these times but we all know that the business cannot succeed without them, that said ponder over this.
if someone has signed into an S/A quite rightly, but has NO intention of ever doing it, is it right for them to get the S/A holiday payment??
or the person/s who actually do it????????????

If you don't do the work you can't have the holiday payment.Glenno wrote:Ok, here goes, firstly S/A payments are a luxury in these times but we all know that the business cannot succeed without them, that said ponder over this.

If you regularly work SA you get that amount on your week off.
If you do it on ad hoc basis you get the average of the 4 weeks preceding your holiday.
If you don't do it - you don't get it.
As to the first question I think it is entirely possible to get 6 SA holiday payments if you take 6x1 week holidays and have SA built into the office plan.
Never let the hand you hold, hold you down.

Re: Holiday sa payments
The quote above refers to "leave" first before talking about an exception for additional paid-for annual leave.
So...Anyone get SA payments when on sick leave? Heh
It's full pay when on sick, yeah? As far as I know, whether this is to be interpreted as all regular pay is a grey area under EU law, so wondering if RM already doing it through this agreement?

If you are a 20yr person you get the full 6 weeks, it dosn't matter how you take your holiday, it should all be on PSP, the exception is on "buying extra leave"As to the first question I think it is entirely possible to get 6 SA holiday payments if you take 6x1 week holidays and have SA built into the office plan.

Employees with an SA contract but on sick leave should not receive SA holiday payments whilst remaining on sick leave. SA holiday payments are not payable to employees on unpaid leave.

You need to speak to your Rep/Manager to upgrade your 20yrs service on PSP asap, you are losing lots of money my friend
1.2 SA Payments Whilst On Annual Leave
Payments should be made for the individual employee’s in-year contracted holiday (i.e. against contractual holiday accrued in that leave year) and contractual holiday which is carried over from the previous leave year where this has been properly authorised. SA holiday pay will not be paid for additional purchased holiday or holiday brought forward, nor any compensatory days (such as days in lieu generated through operation of Bank Holiday Credits, Bank Holiday overtime working, or Privilege Days).
The guiding principle is to make an SA holiday payment equivalent to what the employee would have received had they performed their contracted SA commitment rather than taken holiday, this will be determined in one of four ways, subject to the further conditions detailed below:-

Re: Holiday sa payments
So if that's right,I perform sa every week so if I take leave regard less if its a week at a time or one day I should get holiday pay.also our Dom seems to think it,s only based on sa you hold and not what you perform over a 4 week period prior to your leave.

Re: Holiday sa payments
We cover a SA collection on a ad hoc basis , prior to any leave we average the previous four weeks , Dom pays it on that basis

Re: Holiday sa payments
The reason I bumped this issue is because it has become a bit of an issue locally, read on and give your opinions on what you would do about it
What would you do if you had knowledge that this was not happening, and that the person who signed for the duty, but never does it gets the holiday payment??

As motherhubbard quite rightly pointed out it is supposed to be the actual person/s who actually do the workif someone has signed into an S/A quite rightly, but has NO intention of ever doing it, is it right for them to get the S/A holiday payment??![]()

It would depend on whether I thought the "oversight" was a product of ignorance or malice.Glenno wrote: What would you do if you had knowledge that this was not happening, and that the person who signed for the duty, but never does it gets the holiday payment??

If the person paying the holiday payment has no information as to who actually does the work and is making the payment from a worksheet, then a quiet word should put everything straight.
If however somebody knows they are paying the wrong person then help from higher up the foodchain, whether it is management or union or both, would be necessary.
If fraud is being committed then people could be losing their jobs.
Never let the hand you hold, hold you down.

OK, I know I appear to a bit vague and drawing answers out without all the information, so dismiss point 1, point 2 is where I am coming from, also this person is the Rep and the " A " task person for inputting data on PSPmotherhubbard wrote:It would depend on whether I thought the "oversight" was a product of ignorance or malice.Glenno wrote: What would you do if you had knowledge that this was not happening, and that the person who signed for the duty, but never does it gets the holiday payment??
