holiday
Hi all. Is there a formula to work out how many staff can be off on leave at any one time. My DOM is trying to reduce the amount off staff off from 4 full time and 2 part time , to 2 full time and 2 part time during the summer months . I know she's doing this because of staff shortages , but I need to know the exact way staffing / holidays are worked out so I can , without question , defend my argument that she can not do this.

Re: holiday
Your DOM will have all available hours due for leave in their budget, put in a grievance if she is trying to use the leave budget to balance her normal budget.

Re: holiday
The formula should roughly be...
The amount of peeps you have x 6 weeks (which is the max amount of holiday each person 'could' be entitled to) divided by 49 or 50 weeks, which is 52 weeks minus the xmas pressure weeks.(xmas pressure weeks vary in each office)
Obviously not every one will be entitled to 6 weeks so there should be spare weeks available.
Also tell the dumb arse bitch there should be more leave slots in the summer not less,it's in the Pay & Mod agreement !

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
