paying back overtime

Hi, union room.
If you claim 30 mins overtime on a Monday,but you finish 20 mins early the day after (Tuesday).can they take 20 mins off what you claimed the day BEFORE? I am getting conflicting answers from different colleagues.Is there any 'official agreement stating where you stand

It is not allowed, it's called banking of hours and at the moment there is no agreement in force with the cwu and rm that allows it

Once you've booked it, you've booked it. If they send you home early the following day because they can't fill it thats their doing.
You cant allow them to let you book it monday, let you go home early tuesday and on wednesday they say you went home early yesterday we're having that time back from you for Monday.
How far back can they go with this, it must happen on the day and most importantly you must agree to it.
We won't be allowed to book anything for 5 days incase we finish early?
Can you imagine how p*ss poor their memories will become when you go to see them to book stuff from last Tuesday, "eerrmmm no John/Jane i don't remember because, i was on holiday, it was my day off,i was off sick, i was on a course, i wasn't you line manager that day, i came in late, went home early, that was my morning to play minesweeper on the computer, that was the day i wasn't sure if i'd put my shoes on the right feet and spent all day thinking about it till i got home and my dad said i was a good kid and they were ok because he bought the special ones and no-one would notice anyway but next time i got to go see him before i leave the house so he could check for me.

This happens at our office, often!

One manager at our office tried to go back TWO Tuesdays;
because someone tried to claim one day, the manager said that because he finished early 2 weeks previous on a Tuesday, he wouldn't pay him!!
It mainly happens at our office when there is a 'higher' manager there.
If a colleague "escapes" before a manager sees him then he gets away with it!

This happens in my office. The rep just said don't leave early and they can't do it!

They can't bank hours, it's not allowed. It's down to them to give you enough work on a Tuesday so you don't finish early. They cannot alter docket you've already done, it's a signed and legal document and would probably fall under the category of unlawful deduction of wages.
