Get your rep to lodge a stage 1 disagreement over it if the office isn't happy about it.

I'm sure there is a magic hat they pull these out of somewhere! I make a point of sitting down on IPS - if I stand for an hour or two on IPS and then sort my frame my back starts to ache from the repetitive actions. It is much better for me and the business if I do IPS sitting down. Sometimes if I have many letter for the top slots (mostly missorts etc) I put them in a small pile on the frame and put them at the top in bulk - it's actually slightly faster than standing up that way.

Just laugh at them...while you're sitting down of course.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
