Fixed term Contract coming to an end

Hi,

So my 6 month fixed term contract comes to an end tomorrow. Have been assured a few weeks ago by DOM that myself and the 4 others who started at the same time as me will be kept on and will then be permanent RMG employees.

Can anyone tell me how and when you are contacted with a new permanent contract?

you only get permanent contracts through HR (DOM'S can't authorise them but only recommend) so don't believe anything your DOM says until HR send you a new contract stating your are permanent. You will receive this through the post. If your DOM says its been done you can always phone HR on your payslip and they will know within 2 hours of your DOMs request. This is the same for change in hours too.

I was kept on after my 6 month contract finished but now I'm on a 3 month contract that's been renewed twice, seems the norm.
