My uncle has just turned 59 and his knees are about knackered. Thinking about packing it in by Xmas. Be off sick due to knee/foot issues for last 3 weeks. In today's climate he has already been chatted to by dom about ill health retirement. If he decided to proceed with it would he just get his immediate pension and a lump sum or just the pension?

I think it all depends on when his 60th birthday is.I left at the end of September 2012 and my 60th birthday was in December 2012 and I got the lot,that is pension and lump sum.
