CWU...WE'RE LOSING GROUND...TIME TO MOVE FORWARD!!!

Post by tenpole tudorsack »

I CLASS MYSELF AS PRETTY LAID BACK AND OPEN TO SUGGESTION. BUT I HAVE A PROBLEM AT THE MOMENT, IN THAT WE ARE STALLED AND ALL I SEE ARE BACKLOGS DIMINISHING. I HAVE PAID MY UNION FEES FOR MANY YEARS IN THE HOPE THAT WHEN I NEED HELP THEY WILL PROVIDE THE ANSWERS AND THE BACKING. I HAVE YET TO SEE EITHER. AM I BEING NEGATIVE? I STILL AWAIT DIRECTION FROM THE CWU, THERE IS NOTHING COMING OUT OF THESE MEETINGS TO THE RANK AND FILE AND THE LONGER THIS GOES ON THE MORE DISTRUST EVOLVES. WE NEED CLEAR DIRECTION...IF THERE ARE POINTS IN THE NEGOTIATIONS THAT DON'T ADD UP, TALK TO THE PEOPLE, OR ARE THEY AFRAID OF WHAT HAS BEEN AGREED?

SORRY I'M BABBLING...ENGLAND LOST IN THE RUGBY AND I'VE HAD A FEW SHERBERTS, DOH!
WE SHOULD HAVE GIVEN RM NOTICE OF FURTHER STRIKE ACTION THE MINUTE WE SAT DOWN WITH THEM, TO PUSH THE "WE MEAN BUSINESS" ATTITUDE THROUGH. THE CURRENT STATUS MEANS WHATEVER THE OUTCOME WE HAVE LOST MOMENTUM AND THE EFFORT WE HAVE PUT THUS FAR HAS DIMINISHED...

Absolutely correct! The leadership of the CWU should have learned the lesson of early August and announced strike dates. Last week was a legal cock-up, but there was no reason that I can think of why strike dates should not have been announced for the forthcoming week.

There are 2 possibilities to be gleaned from the news blackout at union HQ. Either they are so close to a deal that they don't care about the backlog of post, and they just need to tidy things up. Or----a big enough majority of the PEC cannot in their wildest dreams imagine accepting what is put in front of them. Even after drinking ample quantities of champagne supplied by there virtuous hosts. Knowing the track record of messrs Leighton & Crozier, it's more likely the latter. In which case, more rolling strikes will be announced early next week. :lfo :cfo

Feck off. :speak to the hand I share with a good many colleagues on here, and all around the country, the feeling that we should stand our ground
and fight these b'stards :lfo :cfo .

You, on the other hand, are in that minority of colleagues who are happy to live their lives on their knees, to always settle for the crumbs from your
master's table, rather than demand your slice of the pie.

I do not for one moment, envy you. :so there

Nice one Harry! It's our pie. We made it, and we want it all for ourselves.
