Hi everyone does anyone know if I am able to use special leave to attend our baby's 12 week scan as she needs my support because we have had two bad ones in the past tried swapping day off but no good tia

Dads are entitled to a certain amount of time off for ante natal appointments. Not sure how much though.

The above link will give the management booklet for the revised Special leave which is undergoing a name change to " OTHER TIME OFF " basically split into 3 categories DOMESTIC, PERSONAL and FAMILY.
In your described circumstances would be several options of giving the time off back at a later date that suits you manager, unpaid leave or using your holiday entitlement this obviously would depend on the type of manager that you have.
