Applying for a duty?

Can anyone tell me how long you have to have been doing a duty (which you have applied for) before you can apply for another? I thought it was a year. I know revision repicks don't count. Thanks

That must be a local thing pod, in our office once you sign for something it's yours for a year or you have to go reserve if you really think you've made a mistake that you can't live with.
