There were three main areas that Formby focused its action plan on:
Facilities
The office had a lot of facilities issues that needed improving, such as ventilation in the toilets. Mick persistently chased up improvements and escalated where necessary, making sure he regularly communicated progress with the team. Management also ensured colleagues had the appropriate uniforms and footwear to carry out their duties.
Career opportunities
Mick produced a weekly printout of job vacancies on IRIS, advertised reserve positions and trained people up. This meant they could swap roles and it allowed more people access to other responsibilities within the office, such as DOM support and working in the enquiry office.
Communication
Mick believes in communicating regularly with his people, and in keeping an open mind about the issues people raised. He regularly communicates any changes in the business with all his colleagues.
He believes that these steps have been instrumental in achieving increased performance scores and improved relationships within the team.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I suppose it will be easier to manage an office say 15 people rather than 150 people and managers passing bucks on.
