The DOM has closed off the whole period between 30th November 2015 and 28th December to any annual leave, can he do that?

yes that is the norm in royal mail but it should only be till the 26th

The 28th is a Bh this year which we may still be working as we'll have Friday and Saturday thats probably why.

So xmas pressure is getting longer and longer,need the extra vans in early now and the packet runs up an running early and the....
The leave year will be April to March. The Christmas pressure period, determined by the operational unit, will be a closed period for leave. The selection process should be complete by the end of the preceding October each year.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

We get it rammed down out throats about the decline in letters and the impact our competitors are having on us for everything else to do with resourcing but there's no mention of that in December.

I think it's more to do with sick levels rising that there extending the Xmas pressure period but staff can't book annual leave at the best of times anyway. :arrrghhh
