Rolling over annual leave/annual leave purchase

Post by jetblack »

Hello all

I am purchasing an extra weeks leave for 2015/16 giving me 6 weeks in total.

I've just found out that I have 2 weeks still outstanding for this leave year (2014/15) - this is 1 week more than I thought I had remaining (slight miscalculation on my part plus bank holidays plus a day carried over from last year), so I have to either put the extra week in this leave year or carry it forward (carrying it forward would be my preferred option).

I know that under normal circumstances 1 week can be carried forward - but does this still apply when I have purchased an extra week for 2015/16 ie. can I carry forward 1 week from 2014/15 to 2015/16, thereby giving me a total entitlement in 2015/16 of 7 weeks ?

I don't believe there would be any problems in our particular office (logistically) in getting cover for the holiday - I just wondered if there were anything specific in the Way Forward Agreement that would disallow/preclude this, as I don't want my line manager to screw me out of a weeks entitlement (which I know my manager would be more than happy to do)?

Thanks
