Hi I have just been retired on ill health grounds an I received a lump sum, does anyone know if this releases my share and can I cash them in now?

As you're a 'good leaver' you'll get a letter in the next few weeks giving you the option of selling some or all of your free shares.

Yes, as you have retired you can cash your shares in now, tax free, or, you can keep hold of them.
Your H&S rep should have explained all that to you.
