tendonitis

Hi everyone
been off work for a week now with tendonitis in the top of my foot. There has been no improvement at all so going to see the doc tomorrow to get signed off.
Has anyone had any experience of this kind of injury?

What are the symptoms?
I have occasionally experienced a burning sensation over the top of my foot. I wondered if it was tendonitis.

i dont have any burning sensation. This feels a bit like you've dropped a heavy weight on the front of your foot! cant flex your toes without a lot of pain but a lot of other foot movements are ok. Pain when walking, especially steps/slopes. Thought i could work through it the first week, but ive probably made it worse! Proper name is extensor tendonitis.
wondered if anyone had had any experience of it - how long they were off for etc.

I had this exactly the same place, went to docs got some anti inflammatory and back at work after 2 days off

Hot spots are quite common in the top of the feet if you wear boots,try lacing them up differently,missing out the lace holes where the laces would cross the affected spot.

Had exactly the same in my right foot . It felt like it was bruised . Was worse walking in bare feet . Doc signed me off for 4 weeks . Rest and anti inflammatory tablets was the cure and throwing Royal Mail trainers in the bin and going back to catapillar boots . Still get the pain from time to time but not as severe now ...

May be the crap shoes our caring employers provide us with. Not up to the job of walking 10 miles a day. Try getting a docs note (shouldn't be hard) and your own quality footwear. You only get one pair of feet and it pays to look after them. I wear merrel moab, fantastic shoes, don't know why RM can't cut a deal with them, would save them more sick time.
