Can you book the week commencing the 22nd of december off? I put it down on my holiday sheet, but i'm sure it said something about only getting the saturday off of that week??

Hi,
Can you book the week commencing the 22nd of december off? I put it down on my holiday sheet, but i'm sure it said something about only getting the saturday off of that week??

just because there no guaranteed overtime doesnt mean its not a xmas pressure week, and as such annual leave will more than likely be a non starter

Depends if you're going on a visit to Mecca or not. That seems to be the way to get Christmas weeks off in our office.

In our office a guy wanted to go home for xmas and was allowed to. He comes originally from the West Indies. He got permission, everyone else said good luck to him.

Our DOm used to enforce no leave during xmas pressure.
But a couple of years ago our area rep told him he couldn't restrict the period in which we could book leave.
Our office has a limit of 10 people off on any single day, as long as it's within that you can book a day or week off when you want. If it's booked up then hard luck.
But as far as we are aware officially you can book time off during christmas.

We've been told nationally you can't book the Saturday off (27th). With a bit of luck they may just give us a free day off like they did a few years ago when Christmas day was on a Thursday. :)
