Anyone else believe that under this regulated system, RM only has a future if it pays its staff less than it does now in line with its rivals. We are paid 25% more than them, so its simple to see at some point that margin will become crucial in RM's competitiveness.
When RM tries to address this, it will strike itself to death.

I can then see only one outcome. No other operator will provide an end to end service with USO, therefore RM deliveries will have to be split. The rest of RM will tear itself apart unless it could adapt it's workforce.

The PO accounts need to be dissected for the truth - one year we make zillions, the next we lose them. Most people believe the figures, I believe they're doctored.

A long term alternative for wages would be for the CWU to recruit in the competition, and raise their wages, which in turn would protect those in RM.

The PO has existed for hundreds of years, and I see no reason why it can't continue, if ran properly. But I don't believe it's being run properly, and those at the top should go.

According to adam crozier we earn Â£440 reduce by 25% = Â£330 proberbly what /TNT /DHL /BUISSNESS POST / ect get paid!!!.

i'm a bit confused on this one. who exactly are we getting paid 25% more than? we are the only ones out there delivering mail. there is no competition

Good point. If we were being overpaid it would be L & Cs fault. Truth is if anything the others are underpaid and need to be brought up towards our pay. Having said that none of them do the same job as us do they.

Postcomm review into Downstream access is due out in December sometime. So we will have to wait until then to see if the rates charged will change.

I wonder if Postcomm & companies realise that we are now delivering packets for TNT & the like. Loads of Amazon packets coming through now with TNT stamps on.
I can't understand why we lost the Amazon contract, is it because RM were too expensive or unreliable or a combination of the two. Yet TNT can undercut RM & then use us for for the final mile.
Maybe I'm too thick to understand, can anyone explain????
Or is it another attempt to f*ck up the company????

DSA needs reviewing BIG TIME. Also a LOT of people simply are not aware how DSA works exactly and are letting mail go throughthe system that should be getting pulled out and charging them extra for, basically if you are in a MC and you spot ANY item of DSA that is not intra postcoded then take it to revenue protection and the company in question will get charged extra for it, DSA should be sorted when it arrives see. Me and a mate did this recently one friday just to see if we could find any, we ended up pulling about 800 letters off a machine and the companies in question got charged missort rate for them.

Yes I'm not surprised that the scab companies are taking the piss with DSA it is us who let them do it.

Take no notice of this Globalist scum.

There are no rivals as we are the only ones who deliver.

RM deliver over 98% of the market for letters and packets up from over 97% 1 year ago.

The DSA companies are getting a great deal out of this and are sourcing new work to dump on us.

As technology increases there will be job losses through natural wastage but as we are finding new business is being generated to replaced that lost through new technology.

If RM was losing billions it would be understandable that things would have to change but this is not the case and the greedy bosses want all the cream.

There is plenty of room for us and other workforces to increase their pay and conditions they just need to get organised first.
