Tell your manager that you feel you will be in danger of another assault if you deliver on the same walk. Hopefully he should change your walk until the situation changes.

Get your dom to put you on a different walk as you feel you are likely to be assaulted again if you remain where you are.
That's the short term problem sorted. As to what to do in the long term? Thats for you and the boss to play by ear, depending on what happens to your assailant amongst other things.

I expect it's too late now as you are already at work, but after something like that, if you have been injured or shaken up, you can take time off sick with stress. You would not need a doctor's certificate for up to seven days, which can be self-certificated, but would need a GP certificate if you were off for more than seven days.
It would not count towards your sickness record as it was due to an Incident on Duty. If it took you over the sickness absence guidelines it would trigger the appropriate Stage being issued by the HR computer, and you would have an interview with your manager, but he should then notify HR it was due to an IOD and the computer records would then be noted accordingly so that it doesn't count towards stages being issued.
That's what happened when I was held up while out on firms' collections.

i phone police and ambulance and inform management. i did give statement to police and ambulance crews treated me on the spot. i did go to A & E.
i think it should come industrial accident. do i need doctor certificate for the time off? because A&E Doctor could not issue one even if asked him. this has taken me a hour to type since i cant see very well when one of my eye closed. where do i stand here.

You will only need a certificate if you are off sick for more than 7 days.

as stated you wont need a certificate if only off for a week, however if you are contemplating a claim for compensation i would get one anyway to cover that week as will help with any evidence that your injuries resulted in time off work

It is not an Accident on Duty (AOD), it would be an Incident on Duty (IOD). It would not count towards your sickness record. You can self-certificate for first 7 days, then you would need a doctor's certificate. If you need one you can get one from your GP. It's not just the injury but the shock and stress that can affect you.
I was badly affected by my IOD though I wasn't physically hurt. I couldn't sleep for days and my GP prescribed medication. I did go back to work after seven days, because I thought that going back and doing something would take my mind off it, but I probably shouldn't have. My colleagues were surprised to see me back so soon, they reckoned I should have taken six months off!

An accident is an unforseen event that leads to bodily injury or damage to property

An incident is an event that has the POTENTIAL to cause bodily injury or damage to property.

I take it this has been recorded into the accident reproting process at work???

In RM terms, an assault or robbery is recorded as an Incident on Duty (IOD), not an Accident on Duty (AOD). I suppose because it is not an accident. It would not be recorded in the Accident reporting book, or ERICA - I think that is what it's called.
