Contact when off sick
A colleague went sick this Monday with back issues, went to GP who immediately signed him off. The DOM is insisting he attends the office this Saturday for an interview...does he have to go? what can happen if he refuses because he's not well enough?

Call the dim, explain the situation, if he continues to insist upon a meeting invite him to your home at a appropriate time. I suggest 4pm on a saturday would be a guaranteed no show!

It is part of the conditions of the attendance procedure that contact is maintained during absence and I am assuming that colleague is on full wages while off then RM has the right to request your colleague to attend for an interview.makingsounds wrote:A colleague went sick this Monday with back issues, went to GP who immediately signed him off. If your colleague feels due to his/her medical condition that attending for interview would aggravate the condition then a phone call to DOM explaining this so that an alternative can be arranged.
