Well done.. Somehow I bet you ain't even a postie, more like a manager I bet.

As for competing.. we can't with current practices being used by other carriers. We're not holding the company back at all. Just think about it, and if you are a postie, then you're probably the type that comes in early and throws everything off and wanders around the office or tries to even go out early, works through your lunchbreak and even go over your time you don't want to be paid overtime for it and if you do you won't cut off anyway...!

It just seems to me as though many senior posties think they are doing RM a favor turning up for work in the morning.

They need to grasp the concept and be grateful that RM has always paid a good wage that has paid for their houses, kids etc.

Roll on zero hour contracts, franchises and the cull to come.

Well it seems to me that any change that the company wants to make and could implement within weeks then takes months due to having negotiate every fine detail with the CWU.

An example -

The CWU kicking up a fuss because the company wants to try backless tube and bracket frames in mail center over the traditional type.

REALLY?

The postman gets paid to pick up the letter and stick it in a box, does it matter if the box is blue, grey, backless or not.

CWU = Death of RM

p.s. ive been with the company over 20 years over several functions and grades and seen a lot come and go. Not as long as some here but long enough.

I think over the last 4 ish years us posties have accepted alot of change. For eg. D2d into workload, removal of bikes, working paid for hours, longs and shorts, later starts etc etc, but when on a daily basis you have to deal with managers, who are sometimes ex posties, who are unable to change and bully and intimidate certain people on a daily basis you have to take a stand. A strike is the last thing anyone wants to do but sometimes it's the only option that's left.
