Hi,just going through an office revision,found out that 9 of the staff out of 40 have got 1 in 3
Saturdays off with the rest of us still on 1 in 6.Who actually decides this because there was
no vote and when i questioned it manager said it was focus group .
surely there should be an office vote on this?

Under the 2010 everyone is entitled to choose duty options and if thos nine havve it why cant 27 others have it

was told that if 27 have it ,p/t would have to decrease their hours to 24 and it wasnt good
for the business.surely 9 people cannot decide what happens in an office of 40 odd.

the idea of the revision is also to try and meet the workforces aspirations.

If all channels have been exhausted about getting the best deal for everyone no probs
But it looks like they went and looked after themselves.integrity and principles
Spring to mind but it's probably the world we live in today.

Yes,he said it was agreed and nothing
Can be done.i am just amazed that other
Guys in the office have let it go, I am not
In work at the moment but a few other
Boys are not happy about it.next thing I am
Told the duty picks are happening.

Everybody who won't be getting 1 in 3 should point out that they are being treated unfairly.
And the Rep (if you have one) shouldn't be allowing this anyway.

To my knowledge a few of them agreed
With the 1 in 3.i had a meeting with the manager
And he said he wanted everyone on the same
rota because it was easier for him but it had
Been agreed and was going through .duties
Are still being picked so I might ring a rep
From an office that's been through this .

Maybe they can have it but there are consequences to every decision.
It is whether those consequences are palatable or not.

The thing is I am way down the seniority list
But I want things to be fair.surely things should
be done democratically otherwise people
Can do what they want.Obviously you got
To look what's best for the "team"
