Membership Subscription rates from 1st April 2014


The NEC took a decision in September 2013 to defer the increase in membership subscriptions due in January 2014. However at the December meeting the NEC in accordance with CWU rule 11.5.1 has decided to increase subscriptions of all members by 1.5%


From 1st April 2014, CWU subscriptions will therefore be as set out below. (in attachment)


In order that members are charged the correct subscription it is important that all new
Member’s record their weekly working hours in the space provided on the Application Form as well as recording their employer.

No surprise there then and what a choice day. They'll be lucky to keep old members let alone recruit new ones. I am surprised that it isn't more

Well they have a captive cash cow, or think they do. If enough people turn their back on them they might be a bit more concerned or just raise the subs to make up the shortfall. As things go there won't be enough members to justify their inclusion at the big boys club.

cwu represent all communications companies and rm are just a small segment that they cannot be bothered with. There are many other solicitors and claims companies out there who will help you in times of strife , often with no win no fee so SHOP AROUND as with anything else you buy!

Been talk at my office of plenty people about to leave the union.
Lots of different reasons ranging from recent national agreement to non consultation with members on local agreements.
Not to mention an unwillingness to tackle sensitive issues such as making sure management do their job correctly, for fear of losing support from members.

Members will complain more if jobs are lost as a result from the lack of action from reps nationally and locally.

Is it any wonder when there are two classes of union members if you read dingos post how the Londoners have been working the old system for almost 4 years longer than the rest of us and end up with preferential treatment - just wonder if the sweetener for their agreements on revision is for a yes vote on the national ballot.

How many offices are over staffed like the London Offices.................ours is 8 to 12 short and sickness is on the up 4 years into the revisions - there'll be quite a few pulling the plug after this debacle.
