day off falls on bank holiday

So last week my day off fell on boxing day, Now are office you have the option of either day in leu or getting payed for your day off, I elected to get payed and today on my payslip it says bank holiday option a?, and the payment is less than my normal pay?, What gives they have got my hours right but the hourly payment only comes to £8.46, We are on more than £1.00 more than that Any ideas why?.

I think you have been paid the overtime with a day in lieu! Option b is the higher rate with no holiday credited

Rang hr up other day and the guy told me there are 2 options if your day off falls on bank holiday. Option a get paid say £8.50 an hour AND a day in lue, option b get paid time and 1/2 which is around £14.50. Never been told this and not even sure if there were 2 sheets for the different options, and looking at 2013 payslips I have had at least 2 other times were they have paid me on the option a, will have to check whether I got the days in lue as well?.
