Harrsement from co workers when cutting off

Hi

Im fairly new to the job been here about 5 months now. Im currently on a walk with a new starter aswell.

We dont know some of the walks that well yet, so as you can imagine were a bit slower then other people. Especially over the christmas period.
Some times we work over our scheduled time to finish the work.

Other times weve been cutting. But what is getting on my nerves a bit. is the stick we sometimes get from some other employees/
Constantly asking how much we left and why we didnt do it as overtime. Weve also heard people gossip about us aswell.
Anyone else have this problem? Especially when they were new?
The managers been very good with us and totally understands the situation. Just seems other employees think they run the place lol.

I know its hard, but ignore them. They are probably jealous as they don't have the bottle to cut off like you are! Overtime is optional, you can go home at your finish time - end of!

We gt that too ,mostly if not all from the come in early run round delivery strange ppl. You have a life ,and a backbone .

What you choose to do above and beyond your contract hours is your choice, if they want to do your cutoff after completing their own walk, tell them to approach the lino.

Even after 5 months, I would still expect you like most other newcomers to not be fully "outdoor fit," it takes time for your body to get used to walking for ~5 hours per day at a brisk pace. Just do not be tempted to save time by doing things wrong, such as leaving parcels insecure in porches; walking across grass instead of using pathways; filtering mail for the next address while walking (and then tripping up because you were not looking where you were going); carrying pouches on your shoulder except when delivering to blocks of flats etc.

You will get comments from co workers if you cut off, don't cut off or finish on time. You can't win unless you ignore them. Do you care about these people? Are they close friends or relatives? I suspect not so why care about what they say or think?

unless your co workers become managers you haven't got to explain yourself to any of them, put a harasment case in against them, they will soon back off, i hate bullies more than anything, they would not last 5 minutes in our office.

Before any harassment case is submitted you need evidence. I will recommend a note book and log events of inappropriate behaviour by your colleagues over a month. That will show that this problem is an ongoing event. You then need to put your concerns in writing as an informal complaint and give it to your immediate line manager. Request a meeting to discuss the situation at the earliast opportunity. If that fails i recommend putting in a grievance, not at the individuals, but that it is being allowed to happen. That will show lack of management control. Royal Mail have a statutory duty of care, and to avoid any issues such as presenteeism, this issue needs to be rectified as it is no more than a form of bullying.

One of our guys cpl week back said he was cutting off. Which he is entitled to do. Dim told him that's he's too slow on delivery and that will be a performance issue . And,,,,,, because he's slow on delivery (which he is not) he was told you now must take out the whole delivery !, or else,,,,

i find the people who dont ever cut off are the ones who never have their breaks, come in early and race around like arseholes. screw them. I just laugh when they always come back to the office early only to be sent back out again then cry like a baby.

You should make a point of asking those colleagues if they'd like to take your cut-offs out with them.
Tell them you'll have a word with the manager for them since they're so interested

Tell them you're cutting off because you have better things to do, and tell them to piss off if they moan about it.

A couple of older posties have tried it on with me because I'm new. If you speak up for yourself they'll soon pipe down. Take no bullshit!
