First weeks pay - wrong!,

So just received my first weeks pay which I really need and .... It's wrong !

I had my induction on Wednesday 8 hours and working thur, fri, sat 4 hours which adds up to my contracted hours of 20 a week.
Just spoken to payroll they said I officially didn't start until Thursday so thur, fri, sat = 12 hours which is what they've paid me, now HR knew I had an 8 hour induction so don't understand why it's not included.

And been taxed as must be on emergency tax, contract didn't arrive until today !

Oh and by the way no ordering of any clothing or shoes until you've been here a few weeks, no id card and not even a hi viz vest


Apart from that enjoyed being out shadowing today and all the lads I've met seem sound if a little LOUD

If the Wednesday is overtime then you will be paid the following week

The induction day was definitely included in my first wage. Something's not right, unless there's some OT involved. Did you get your payslip?

Not sure why you have to wait a couple of weeks before ordering your uniform. My manager got mine done on my first day and sorted me out with a couple of spare jackets until my stuff arrived.

Some managers are more helpful than others I suppose. Welcome to Royal Mail.

Just keep an eye on it next week. It's common to get incorrectly paid most weeks and have to chase it up so you're always trying to catch up - plus if you're new they'll be testing you to see how much they can get away with.

Write EVERYTHING down, every single minute you work. if you don't take your break make sure you claim for it
