It amazes me the number of people who send Christmas cards to people who've been dead, in some cases well over a year. I've had two already on my delivery and I'm sure there'll be more.

Is this not indicative of today's society, surely a friend is someone you care about enough to actually talk to even if it may only be 1/2 times over the course of weeks or months.
Sadly people have 'no time' in their 'busy' lives to even check on elderly neighbours never mind to find out if 'friends' are still alive.
I feel sad for the friends I have lost over the years that is why I keep in touch regardless even if they are on the other side of the world, the internet and twitter/facebook all have their place at times so how hard is it to keep in touch

Some of them are as out of date as the Virgin Media database.

I don't send any cards.
My BT friends and family list includes a Chinese take-away,a taxi firm and my local pub.
None of those get a card either.

You're spot on though, I keep the addresses of people in my office on a label printer, old workmates from my wifes employment, mine, relatives I haven't seen in years.............old habits die hard.

I know people who are old. I always put a return address on the back of the card, so if they have died or moved I will know.
