Postman/Delivery Induction Day

Hi,

I received a letter to attend to the Welcome day for the above post.
The training is from 9am to 5pm. Can anyone kindly let me know what sort of training will they give on this date as its stated that I have to start work the next day.

1)What sort of clothes should i wear. Is casual OK?
2)In the letter is stated that salary is paid weekly? Is it because this a 3 months contract?
3)The contract hours are 25 hours per week covering 6 days with one off day. Has anyone lucky enough to get overtime?Since xmas is nearby do you think there will be a good chance to get extra hours?
4)The post doesn't says its a xmas casual job. But still 3 months contract. Has anyone got lucky enough to extended their contracts(rolling contracts?) At the interview the recruiter told me they usually do a rolling contract based on performance.

3) Yes, since xmas is nearby there will be a good chance to get extra hours.
4) Yes, be sensible and there should be a good chance of extending your contract beyond three months.

you wont be given any training about the job on the induction day its all the legal stuff that you go through, you should be paired with an experienced postie in your do for a few days then you are on your own hopefully your do will be like mine even though the managers are worse than useless the rest of the guys are always able to help out and answer questions

Most of the induction day involves watching videos and doing quizzes.

If it's at an MC they will give you a tour then you'll probably finish up early, but you'll get paid for the full day.
