Union subs amount for part timer

Hi

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I am part time 32 hours opg and would like confirmation on the amount of subs I pay each week. I have just noticed that I have £3.43 taken off me every week and would like to clarify if this is correct for a 32 hour opg.

Please can anyone clarify if this is the correct amount that I should be paying and what the amount for a 39 hour full timer pays in comparison please.

I'm on a 32hr contract and my union dues are the same as yours, £3.43p

Guys at my SPDO were telling me I been paying too much as they were full time and paying £3.23

we are a crazy bunch but they all sounded so sincere ...Right Gits ...

As for asking any reps...they are non existant at my SPDO so finally plucked up the courage to post on here.

Part time on 20 hours. Union subs are £1.81.

The 20p difference is because you have not opted out of the political fund.

So how do you opt out?

30hrs/week and I pay £2.25 for opt out.

Bit of a difference of 2 hours like.
Did we get the option of an opt out? Or do you just phone up someone?

When I joined there was a box on the form where you put the amount, so I put the opt-out figure. The first week's deduction was at the full rate so I contacted HR and got them to remove it.

Nothing on the CWU website how to Opt Out and nothing on how to leave either...

I never even notice I was paying the subs for a FT staff - not a bloody chance when everything else is pro-rata.

It is probably HR then?

You opt-out through your Branch or HQ, not through HR.
