No - it depends on the reason for leaving. In most cases you would get the backdated bay, the shares depend on if you were a "Good leaver" or not.

Apparently not.dave0876 wrote:Surely a good leaver is someone who works there notice.
It's not as defined by RM/the Government in the prospectus.
Those who resign relinquish their shares I believe.

Re: Shares and backdated pay if I leave
I have no idea - I know IHR, Redundancy and Retirement are all counted as "Good leavers", quitting your job may depend on the circumstances, after all if you are suspended for delay of mail and advised to resign would it be fair if they were guilty. Whereas quitting becaus you have another job, you'll probably be ok. Far too many variables to go into hence why I said "good Leaver" a term in the Shares booklet.bringon4dayweeks wrote:why cant quiting be classed as a good leaver ?TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Scotland1 wrote:Can anyone please confirm that if I leave Royal Mail would I still get the free shares and any backdated pay which should be due if wages ride is accepted

Any tax experts here know whether you pay tax on the shares if you take them on retirement prior to the three year period?

Re: Shares and backdated pay if I leave
I'm leaving in just over a week, resigning to travel the world. They have had my notice for 4 weeks. I spoke to the online chat last night and they said that would mean I don't get the shares.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So basically if you leave cos u have a new job in the next three years you will lose your shares so as far as I'm concerned I don't own any share for three years.
