CWU Petition to remove Levy from Labour

I just created the petition "CWU to remove all monies from Labour Party" and wanted to ask if you could add your name too.

The union may have to to make some kind of decision or compromise soon.
Every 10 years a union is forced by law to ballot its members on the continuation of its entire political fund.
For the CWU that will be next year and the last thing the union wants is some kind of protest vote against Labour affiliation forcing the scrapping of the entire political fund.

I wouldn't sign this for two reasons, renationalising is out of the question and there should be no question of solidarity from the unions prior to the election in 2015.
The cost of renationalising would be prohibitive and nothing should stand in the way of the Tories being defeated. What Labour need to do is ensure that the legally binding element of privatisation is continued after the election.

Conference passed a motion but that is NOT Labour Party policy - how many times has a motion been passed at the CWU conference and not been carried out.

Hell yes - lets give it to them and wait 250 years until they are in a position of power in a UKIP/Green/Monster Raving Loony coalition no I think I'll stick thanks.
