Think I read somewhere we start getting the papers on 5th September which is why I asked. I may of misread though.

I just hope that the union haven't left it too long to issue us with ballot papers. I think we should have been given them instead or at the latest a week after the consultative ballot was done. I just feel Royal Mail have no interest in reaching any agreement with the union all Royal Mail are Interested in is privatisation. The talks that they've been having are just to bide time. Just can't help feeling the union have left it late, a yes vote for industrial action would have given the union a better negotiating tool. Stable door,horse and bolting spring to mind :-(

The consultative ballot didn't have to follow the laws as it was only consultative.

This ballot has to follow a set of laws and if they are not followed the whole thing can be invalidated. Think we should have had it earlier but a strike in Oct onwards would be seriously worrying RM!

Same old, same old.
Cannot now remember when we actually won a dispute with Royal Mail.
Always, always, walk back into a worse job after a strike, than the one before going out.
Not sure my body will take the next 'deal of the century.'
In fact, I know damn well it won't.
Sorry to say, but I trust the CWU just as much as I do Royal Mail's vastly overpaid management.

if its a crap deal £ 3.40 a week cwu subs belongs to me there are a good few guys in our office not in union and their treated no worse than me

All of the management got an email yesterday asking them to "update the skills register" ie; do you know how to process specials, are you changeover trained, can you drive a 600cf etc.

Or the other interpretation of the "update the skills register" request is that RM are preparing for a fight, that Moya Greene is NOT going to 'bottle it' and offer a last-minute compromise, to avert a strike.
If she was going to bottle it, there would be no need to find out which managers can cover which tasks

This is a dangerous time. The hand of government lurks behind the RM board of directors. They could be deliberately trying to engineer a dispute, in order to 'justify' why RM should be privatised. We could be sleepwalking into a well-laid trap

I mentioned that on IPS today and one of the old timers said that we won the regional pay dispute. Is that true
