hi fellow posties,
i have worked in royal mail as a postie for 12yrs, 4 yrs ago i was temp upgraded to cover long term sick approx 1 yr and have continued to do so since
my contract is 28hrs but week on week i do an average 38 hrs upgrade but on my days off and holidays i only get basic 28 hrs pay.
i have a burning question. does anyone know if i am eligible to keep the upgrade hrs permenatly after a period of time. as i have heard it could be the case not sure what to do. thanx for ur help folks will be grately appreciated.

Do you have it in writing that your contract has been temporarily upgraded to 38 hours?

ahhh! theres a thought, i can't remember ever signing a contract, or even seeing one oh bugger not sure what to do now

If you are in the union get the rep to speak to the DOM as there is a ruling about excess hours worked on a regular basis - if not then ring HR and ask them for a definitive answer to your question.
