sickness record advice

hello,

i want to ask can someone be issued with 1st, 2nd and 3rd stage warning over the same medical issues.
i am at the first stage went off 4 times in one year due to experiencing vertigo a form of dizzyness this is really the only reason i take time off because it takes a few days for it to go away. i am thinking now what if i experience it 2 times in the next 6 months ( i have been reffered by gp) this will trigger 2nd. is their a way to go sick without it affecting record, do i need to speak to atos or something.

Has there been a diagnosis for the cause of the vertigo? I once worked with someone who had Meniere's disease which caused vertigo and wasn't curable exactly though it was treatable - that was more than 25 years ago.

get a business referral to speak to atos. they will decide if your illness is a disability that comes under the equality act. if it is, these absences shouldn't count against you in the formal attendance procedure until such a time that your line manager writes to you informing you that these absences will now count. I would like to think your line manager offered you the services of atos at your return to work meetings and the formal stage 1 interview. always take a union rep with you to any formal meetings. all the best.

Thanks for reply. When I got the the 1st think I was offered atos never took it. I can ask to be reffered myself
It takes some time to pin point what it is, for myself am lucky as after 5days I feel back to normal until next time.
Am seeing an ent doctor this month so hopefully will get some answers.
The other thing is I've got a .gp note stating I should have a light duty where I have the option
To sit, but did not give it in because if they couldn't do it will have2 go off.

It is rare for someone to be sacked the first time they trigger a stage 3.
Given the circumstances it would be highly unlikely you would be dismissed.
