dog attack last year. solicitors av now let me know dog owners av kno w dog or hou se insurance so i have know way of claiming anything. 1. i'm left out of pocket ( pescriptions, hospital visits(parking) missed out on o.t through time off, and wife had to take day off due to the accident. 2. royal mail are asking for money to be paid back by me for time i had off due to dog attack. 3 why are they not going to dog owner for the cash ? 4. would like answers because royal mail seem to have swept it under the carpet and i'm out of pocket through know fault of my own.

You can still get a settlement even if they have no insurance , they still have assets and these can be taken in lieu of payment. This however will need to have the case taken to court for a judge to make an order. You could also try the small claims court. Just give SM a kick up the arse and tell them they work through the union for you , what they mean by not getting apayment for you is they are worried there won't be enough for them to get their money back.

thanks for comments guys. i am a little annoyed to be honest. i've paid into union for over 20 years and they seem to have said your on ur own. so what i'd like to know is are we as posties insured by royal mail for dog attacks ? if not then i twould leave loads of mail in if i said i'm not delivering to any house that as a dog.
