just received the union,s take on the pay deal, they want to use 2.2 billion of our pension funds, so they can lower THEIR contrubutions!!! we need the union to underline how much this PAY DEAL!!! will actually cost us in real terms, members better realise we are in the last chance saloon!!!

Can I just point out that the way this reads makes it sound as though it is the union who want to use the billions to lower their contributions, it isn't, may be picky but don't want mis-info do we!

sorry, royal mail want to use the cash surplus to lower their contributions, the union does not pay to your pension!!!!

Another RAPE of our pensions while some women on twitter talk about words and threats not that I condone it or dismiss it. This is a RAPE of our hard earned money/pensions WE all need to kick up the same fuss for it is both sex's which will pay the price for privatisation. And our pension will be the first casualty most women In royal mail earn more than their spouses it is time to wake up and smell the coffee!.

My pension if I do the full 45 pensionable service will be£120000 lump sum and about £300 a week going on latest statement but the wife who earns 3 x my salary and pays in 10% of her salary still won get as much as me. So I think it ain't too bad not that I want to take a cut but I'm realistic in life that if there's not enough in the pot when you come to retirement you won't get back what you hoped. Also remember they could close it anytime which is not a good thought in my book.

Except for one thing, it is unlikely that this will be the last time your pension is attacked.
In fact, it is likely that it will be attacked every few years in perpetuity.
Then there is also the point that post privatisation, very few of us will manage to work the full 45 (assuming the limit stays there) due to job cuts and a harder working life for those left behind picking up the slack of those leaving.

My point was though that its still better than a private one not saying I am happy with chunks of pension going but as I said you can only get out what's in the pot..not screw everyone else eh db1100..
