Only a week to go until the ballot closes still no voting slips what a union we have, bet they will want us to go on strike though if they get a yes vote anyone else not had there papers yet ? couldn't organise a ....in a brewery that's why we always get s..t upon from a great height because royal mail use professional people to run there campaigns and we use amateurs any thoughts people?

If not contact your cwu branch and ask where they are.

As suggested contact your rep and branch.

As to getting us to strike - possibly but in any case they'll have to have another different ballot to make a strike legal.

Before any strike action we should try and 'work to our contract' first - that will most effective as a starting point and will cost RM a lot of money; reduce profits and make them less attractive.

And then we might even Work-to-Rule before any notion or even threat of STRIKES.

Ballot paper was from Rep. And I dont understand what the Union is getting at

Still waiting for my ballot paper, we don't have a union rep as ours has just resigned and ballot papers were brought in by the area rep and as it was my day off never got mine, why do they post info on why we should strike but then not post the ballot papers to us?????

But I, like most members, didn't want the 2010 BT agreement, but still got it.
Don't know how much it would coat to hold a ballot. Ask HQ, though they're unlikely to tell you.

As far as I understand it, the CWU will use its funds as it seems fit, our subscribitions do not rise or fall depending on Ballots,
the Consultative Ballot, an innovation in itself, is a reflection on how the CWU wants to move forward as a modern Union, through this ballot we have the oppotunity to shape future talks, and let HQ know how strongly we feel about the 4 key issues they have raised, this will infact potentially save money, ie if we all say no to supporting the stance on pay for instance, HQ won't waste time on persuing it.
