Three day week?

Been told by our rep we "havent a cat in hells chance" of a three day week after our revision and it should never have been an option. If enough of us p/t want it surely it should be deliverable even if it does interrupt the managements attempt at the world record for coffee drinking? Also the whisper is that RM want to boost the 25 hour crew (majority of p/t) to 30 hours. Would we be able to get a 4 day week at 7.5 hrs per day if that was the case?
Management are staying tight lipped, we are less than 8 weeks from our revision.

Many of our part timers are on a 3 day week, every Thu, Fri and Sat on cover duty and they cover full timers who have their days off on those days only - they work an 8 hour duty making them 24 hour contracts. Which means full timers have 1 in 3 Saturdays off. Other part timers work 5 days and have various contracts such as 25, 30, 32.5 and they'll have a rotating day on the same three days as the full timers. Our revision was 2 years ago.

How does that work IF you have longs and shorts. Is there enough work especially on the Tuesday to do an 8 hour day?

I job share on a 21 hour contract and we have Longs and Shorts.

Start Thursday 7.5 hours
friday 7.5 Hours
Saturday 6.5 Hours
Monday 6.75 Hours
Tuesday 6.25 Hours
Wednesday 7.5 Hours

Then week off Thursday through to Wednesday.

How does that work IF you have longs and shorts. Is there enough work especially on the Tuesday to do an 8 hour day?

A flat day should be 7h 48 with a 39 hr week.
30 minutes for WTLL - less mail but the busiest day for Specials (Guaranteed) meaning a higher number of attendance calls.

In our office staff on 25 hours got boosted to 30 hours with there own duty. They work 6 hours per day for 5 days, but each one get 1 in 4 saturdays off but work every weds and thurs because of this. Its 1 hour to tie up and leave office and the rest of the 5 hours is breaks and delivery time. We have 4 18 hour per week staff that work 3 days. They cover the 30 hour staff on days off etc. Works well in our office. FT staff dont get the 1 in 4 sats off but part timers do which is a shame
