Retirement on health grounds and pay increase

Post by smj17 »

I am wondering if anyone can answer a question for me. I will shortly be retiring on health grounds from the post office and I will be having a lump sum payment + 12 weeks notice + any holiday and toil accrued, this will probably happen before any pay agreement is reach (if indeed this does happen). My question is: If the pay is back dated to April 2012 and I have already left the post office, will I be entitled to the pay enhancement for the above from April 2012 until I left, including my lump sum?

Thank you

If the pay award is back dated then you should get it from the date it is implemented till your last day of service. This is called out of service payment. Subject to usual deductions of course.

Hope you get better and enjoy your retirement.
