the above works for me too. I'm still not convinced they're safe either, magnetic waves and what not, they get pretty hot sometimes and the batteries run out way too quick.

I keep Comms disabled until 1 o'clock and dispatch all the scans at once and again at the end of the duty - I never see the battery drop below 70%.

God thats the most annoying when you don't get enough time to scan or put the customer name in before the stupid warning pops up
again and again and again--I lose it--I could throw the f*****g thing----and I have done. Useless piece of crap.

Another thing that pisses me off about them is having to keep putting the PIN number in when you go to scan something.

One of the firms I deliver to regularly has 80+ recordeds... My PDA has frozen half way through a few times. Have to reset and start again. Wastes 5 minutes though I suppose.

I think it will lock if its used too long, try 20 at a time and see if that works.

How do you disable comms on the things? Ours disables itself and we have no idea how to turn it back on again!

On the page where it shows you what "events" are waiting to be sent, there is "Options" bottom left, open that menu and you'll see a sub-menu for coms. I Sometimes turn coms off as the battery seems to last longer rather then the thing pissing around connecting every few minuets when really we only need it to connect when sending data.
