With all that's going on I would at least run it by the area rep before you do it, some people might think you're bullying them if they think you're getting at them.

Don't see how a Dom could argue against you asking members to "do the job properly", unless he is telling them not to do it properly which would be foolish of them.
I've been thinking of doing a memo aswell. Much along the same lines as you, they are really beginning to come down heavy on people who make errors and the staff really need to be aware this is'nt going away any time soon. This week its D2D's and excess D2D's, next week who knows
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
If you have a team brief in your office and you should under the agreements, its a joint workshop so you are allowed to put forward a point from the cwu.
Therefore you are within your right to bring up an issue.Management could not have an issue with you saying do the job properly. If your members have a problem with it then they are wrong. You are trying to put their interests first. You are trying to protect their jobs and they should understand that.Your branch would support you as you are saying the right thing
You should have a union notice board to put up your points as well ,do you?
To be honest you are as well running it past management.
You can't realistically give anything to members you don't want management to see as some scumbag will always run off to management with their copy anyway.
If management stop you handing out information to members you can always kick it upstairs for the full-release bods to sort out,I'm sure they would welcome the distraction.
The Rep in our office had an argument with the boss about duties being overfaced, when they were taking jobs out in the revision. He said that, if everyone did their jobs properly, they would have to put in more duties. The boss agreed. When the Rep said he would tell the staff to do their jobs properly, the boss replied if he did that, he would take action against him for starting unofficial industrial action.
We have been handed an agreement and in it it states no working before you start time, 20min meal break away from your fitting before you commence delivery and all staff to return to the office at the end of duty, Any manager who do'es not implement these changes has to be reported by the rep, The manager will then have to answer to a director, The runners will not like it but those who do the job right have nothing to fear.

With regards to coming in before your duty time. If you're start time is say 07.15 and you come in at 06.30 or something - are you covered to be on the premises?
not that i do this, (far from it.)
I believe from a purely legal standpoint, you are only insured to be on site for up to 10 minutes before and after your attendance times. At least, that's the view of more than one of my former line managers.
