Bullying & Harassment..still rife
Please can someone let me know where we are regarding the bullying & harassment problem by management towards the staff which is wide spread across the buisness, our office has this problem and I witness this and have been subjected to it virtually on a daily basis. Cost cutting and unachievable workloads have made our office a " hell-hole" to work in...no morale in staff, constant bullying, unfortunately our rep has a uphill struggle and people or losing faith in the union.

Yes, does anyone know how the talks between RM and the union are going?
What have I done to deserve this?

Discussions are now taking place with Royal Mail to do something about the way our members are being treated. We have requested a Joint Statement but Royal Mail are
slow coming forward on this point

Don't leave your Rep to do all the fighting as management will do their level best to isolate and undermine his best efforts if they see him as a 'loner'. If conditions are that bad, it needs the whole office to unite behind the Rep. Management need to see that before you can make in-roads on ridding the office of B&H. There are options available to tackle B&H in the workplace - use them! Please can someone let me know where we are regarding the bullying & harassment problem by management towards the staff which is wide spread across the buisness, our office has this problem and I witness this and have been subjected to it virtually on a daily basis. Do what Bristol did, go on strike and a very disruptive one, that will get the manager's anal sphincter going into a spasm when they think of losing their bonus

Union's can't just throw their weight about any old place.
Maybe a joint stern-ish letter....with ACAS involvement.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thanks for your reply but rest assured we don't just leave it to are rep when in the past people have taken incidents further they have fallen on deaf hears with promises of action towards management being taken also when issues are ever brought up its individual performance that's always thrown at us..Ps are rep would never be seen as a loner he does the majority of docket for them..Ahebban wrote:Don't leave your Rep to do all the fighting as management will do their level best to isolate and undermine his best efforts if they see him as a 'loner'. Unfortunately, it has got to the point where industrial action has to be considered. RM hiding behind 'performance management' is as outdated as it is evil, and shows what a pathetic, incompetent management regime this company has. If the current CWU/RM meetings can't sort something out, 'other methods' will have to be used. Exposing some of the cases publically via all media outlets should be happening already.NWpostie wrote:Do what Bristol did, go on strike and a very disruptive one, that will get the manager's anal sphincter going into a spasm when they think of losing their bonus

It shouldn't need to get that far, when you have no options left only the more extreme ones, then the Management have failed to manage, Managing people isn't just about cracking the whip, its about encouraging them, inspiring them to do well for their company as their jobs ultimately depend on it, its about treating people with respect as you would like to be treated, to show that you have their welfare and interest at heart, thats the definition of a leader not a robotic incompetent bully.Dee Plish wrote:Unfortunately, it has got to the point where industrial action has to be considered. We had such a bully in our office and we all as an office raised this with HQ, he was later moved sideways.
When another Dom was trying to take out hours and cut overtime, we all as an office worked to rule, culled left right and centre, waited for the vans, there wasn't enough vans available as they were taken out as too many were using their cars giving them the excuse to cut them down, eventually they got taxis to take us to our start point, before hiring loads of people movers to cover that, their budget went through the roof along with overtime being booked and the local media got interested, they eventually withdrew their plan to cut hours etc the point was made, if they hadn't it would have been strike action next.
Unity is strength, that fact of it, you must all stick together, divided you will fall, thats the long and short of it,the flyers need to see the big picture on how it affect their colleagues and ultimately themselves.
